See, I don't understand why this is so taboo in todays culture, it's not like it's permanent, the "pipework" can be reattached if needed, it just means you can enjoy the old hokey pokey without worry about being a daddy for the 7th time :)

Same as had mine 4 years ago no pain.
Had it done on the Friday back at work Monday But went to carry the usual 20kg in each arm took the strain and changed my mind to half that /lol
Worse thing for me was on the bench with your pants round your ankles while some old Doc moves you cock and balls about.
Only took 10mins though had to wait longer after in case you pass out.

I found I had natures version of the 'snip'. Bit bad but then I met the lovely wife and have a ready made family. You should see peoples confusion when you tell them you have a 21 year old daughter, a 13 week old grandson and you are only 32! /popcorn

there can be pain in some cases but from what i can gather, any pain normally goes within a few days. once i recovered from the operation i was fine. i didnt even take any painkillers as the post op pains werent bad and there has been no problems since. the worst bit was during the op when it felt like he was squashing my right nut and my right eye did that almost closed thing.
afterwards you have to hand in a sample at 8 and 10 weeks and once they are tested you will be given the all clear (if it was successful). i handed my second sample in on monday so i am waiting for the results now

I would rather spend a whole month in a dentists chair, than have to go through that again.

Good luck anyway, no pain no gain!!

The bulk of the pain comes from the size of the needle they insert into your scrotum .... It's huge!! :o
once they are sliced open & they tug out the tubes, it feels like you're being lifted off the slab /lol

Still going ahead with it /lol

I don't know what all the fuss is about !

I had the snip nearly 20 years ago. Admittedly, the local anethestic smarts a bit, & you can feel a bit of tugging. But it's all over in less than 15 mins.

I drove home.. Had a cuppa.. Then went back to work.

Its a cinch - no pain if you have the "no scalpel" method. The most pain I felt was when the grizzly old nurse dropped the weighted cushion (designed to hold "the old man" out of the way) onto my plums. The worst bit was taking the sample in a few months later and handing it over to the young nurse at the hozzy. Quite embarassing -particularly as she refused to shake my hand when I left :)

What a thing to do on Red Nose Day. Off to Kidderminster in a couple of hours for the dreaded snip. I thought of asking you lot to sponsor me but I thought it was a bit of a wierd thing to be sponsored for. Not quite the same as shaving your head, is it?!?! So I have just thrown money at Chris Moyles red nose day mental marathon radio show, he is now over 50 hours non-stop and over 1.8million pounds. Awesome effort!

The general was the scariest thing for me too, to be honest. But as a teenager I had an operation in the same area which meant the tubes etc had been stitched in place, so the consultant wouldn't let me go for a local.

Had mine done few years ago, local anaestetic only, no probs at all though the sponsered bike ride the following week came at a bad time.... It all went a bit 'deep purple' after that hahaha. Still, a good feeling to know i needn't rely on others. Reversal isnt all that simple and chances of successfully producing diminish with time as far as i know so it's best not thought of as reversible just like that. Op itself was a piece of cake, chatted the nurse up whilst the doctor did the snipping and tying behind a curtain. Nothing to fear.
