Mitsubishi, Swindon....................... Just a quick note.....Went into Mitsubishi yesterday for a quote on an oil change to the auto box and they did it there and then, so i played in their Evo's (had the bonnets up poking around), saw the new Optional extras book for Evo's (i think some items may be interchangable with the Galant), played in the Warriors etc. Had a chat with the Ralliart Engineer about the car and the CLUB. Very, Very interested in the project car! I couldn't pay as id forgot my wallet, so they said pop back when convenient!! None of this " We'd better escort you to a cash point" rubbish! If you can strike up a relationship with a dealer whether independant or not, they will look after you.....so much for not writing a lot.
:dozey:

PS have been to the other Ralliart dealer up the road, (within 15 miles of each other) and they are hopeless. i think it comes down to the "People" rather than the Company at the end of the day.

These guys came recommended by Colt Cars themselves and the first time I visited they were fine. Welcoming and considerate.

However, when they replaced 2 wheels and tyres with new ones they didn't even check the tyre pressures or whether they were balanced. I drove off only to find a massive vibration coming from the back of the car. They didn't have any weights on them at all and when I checked the pressures they were 20 and 21psi. Just another crap job by another Mitsubishi dealer I'm afraid.

The only one I've found to be any good is Bristol. One of the busiest in the country, but they manage to cope and do a great job everytime.

This is where I consider myself lucky having AP Motors in Plymouth - they always do my work of an evening and I just stand there and watch - so I can learn but also confirm the work was done properly ;)

Going in tonight for engine oil/filter, gearbox oil/filter, ayc fluid change and rear diff change - should be fun

I second what Pete says about A.P. Motors. I drove down from Bristol on Monday to have a full service (all oils and filters), a cambelt change, and the plugs replaced. I was charged £510 inc VAT and they did the work in about six hours. The quote I had from Mitsubishi Bristol was that it would take 2 days and nearly £1200!
Ever get the feeling that the main dealers are taking the p***
My thanks to Pete for getting me the quote from A.P Motors. Needless to say that I will be using them from now on for all the major services.
As another point of interest. I had the transfer box go a few years ago (but it was under warrenty) and the Mitsubishi dealer had the car in for four days. A.P.Motors told me they could do it in about 4/5 hours!

At those prices it would make sense to plan a day trip to Plymouth and even have a night out, staying in a decent hotel. £690 saving outrageous.
