I turn it off when i need to boot it some. Although there was a thread on G Tech readouts i think that suggested it made no difference to the 0-60 times...

Yep.. Turn it off /yes

When i had an Auto i turned it off all the time.. As it's a killer in the corners and dangerous also ...

It does make a difference on 0-60's. Especially in the wet /pan

Traction control just cuts power when you lose traction .... That's all /toycar

I can confirm that back-to-back runs at the Pod, with everything equal, except for the TCL being on/off, the difference in the quarter-mile time was one 10,000th. :o

However, in real world driving (as life is not a straight line!), it cuts in a little too easily, pulling out of junctions, around roundabouts, etc.

But find a nice big space to test what now happens in corners with it off. Especially in the wet /yes
You will feel more how AYC works with TCL off :mexicanwav

As people have said, if ya boot it around a corner, traction control is a nightmare!

Mine always goes off for more spirited driving!

traction control is FAIL!

It's fail until it snows and turns to ice. Then it's a surprisingly useful substitute for talent.

I'v done back to back 1/4 miles with TCL on & off & no difference. My quickest time ever was done with it on.

But as others have said turn it off. it does kick in far to quickly.

I do switch mine on in the wet & snow.

Just replaced the missing tcl switch, pressing it doesn't seem to do anything? the little skidding car light doesn't light up when pressing off.
The switch seems to be spring loaded resting at the centre, is this correct?
Do I have to hold it in off or on position for a few seconds (tried this doesn't work)

Skidding car will not light up. TCL OFF lamp will... And if nothing else is happened when you push the switch down, you very likely used wrong connector. It must be yellow one. Not blue, black or white...:)

Hi
yes its defo the yellow connector, nothing at all lights up in the cluster, The switch is receiving power as the TCL writing is lit on the switch is lit when headlamps turn on?

I have just had another look at all the lights that come on when turning on ignition , I have NO "TLC off" light appearing at all so I presume either the bulb in dash blown or some other reason :(
How hard is it to get to bulbs in facia?

Single phillips screwdriver is all you'll need /yes

Having re-read this thread I note that I've not had the TCL cut in on me for a very long time. I don't take it easy either.

I cant remember a time when TCL cut in on my car at all! It's permanently disabled now anyway.

Ziggi, just need to take the clocks out (single philips screwdriver required) and see if the bulb has been removed or blown. I am sure there is a thread or atricle on removing the clocks.

I used to turn it off all the time, until I tried to turn right at a t-junction and ended up in a huge tankslapper. My ass was saved by the AYC fortunately.

Oncoming drivers face was priceless and I resolved to keep it on now.
