With my new found boost I went to Meremere today for Winter drags. /rally The first race I didnt launch it and just wanted to make sure everything was running ok. I was up against this scary looking '67 Charger and was thinking he was going to blow me away. Obviously he got me on the launch but 14 seconds later I was in front :) A couple races later I had the rpm up to around 4500-5000 rpm and launched pretty well, the RX7 in the other lane fell behind about a car length then crap, missed 3rd gear and he flew past, 13.6 seconds for that run. At the end of the day I finally had a few clean runs without any problems and ended up with a new PB of 13.2 at 161 km/h. :D I may be able to go slightly quicker but probably not much, the problem is I keep thinking I NEED to go just a little bit faster and faster! Everything held together too although I could smell a little clutch lol.

I'd recommend Winter Drags to anyone thinking about going, its not as busy as Nightwars for instance so its easy to get quite a few runs. Its $15 for entry and another $30 to race, the next and last one is 8th August.

Wow, nicely done... what mods have you got on the car?

Thanks guys :)
The major go fast bits I have are:
Cold airbox and airfilter (where the battery usually is)
Some custom turbo pipes
3 inch exhaust
Boost controller set at 1 bar and aftermarket fuel pump
I usually try to keep my gallery up to date when I do something new, you can see that here : http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=200

I heard a rumour that Brad is going to take his purple VR4 down the quarter mile next time :P

I thought that was a very low time for the mods you have but then I saw the VX-Rom so it makes sense . Well done a good time there .

Hmm Brad do the 1/4 mile now that would be interesting to compare the times against

Yes, do it! I'm sure the other kiwi members would like to see a NZer up near the top of that 1/4 mile table in the Showplace hehe.

good work on that time! mine used to do 13s once, but would probably be lucky to cut a 14 these days haha.

Oh I forgot to mention something that might be a little interesting to some of you with an Apexi RSM+G sensor, I set mine on the start line and it was accurate to about 0.05 of a second.
