Dads had a new front wheel bearing kit/hub fitted from Camskill (http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m22b0s1401p6978) aswell as new brake pades and now the AYC light is permanently on whereas it wasn't before. Could the garage have mullered something or is this coincidence?

Possibly an ABS sensor either not reinstalled correctly, or damaged.

The AYC will use ABS sensors for it's measurements as well as other various sensors.

Check the codes. A wheel sensor issue should show up on the ABS and AYC lights, but an AYC issue will only display on the AYC light. It might be coincidence, but as Garry mentioned - the AYC sensor is quite close to the hub.

Start simple - check the tyres are all still the right pressure :)
If the tracking is off, this can also have an impact.

The old man never gets green ones on mate, it's a red AYC, as in the AYC isn't working.

I will say that it's not 100% related. If ABS sensors was faulty, the ABS lamp will be on long before AYC. So will be TCL/ASC lamp too... But very strange coincidence... But yeah, when amateurs doing bearings the ABS sensors will be in potential danger of being smacked with a hammer

Nah - it's a real VR4. None of those stupid systems that get in the way. They removed them for facelifts! :D

Dad's called me again this morning, he went out for a drive last night and the AYC light had gone off, I've told him to keep an eye on it, if it comes back on again then perhaps the switch could be on the fritz... amongst all of the other possibles!

I think over the weekend we might try and get it in the air to have a proper look underneath.

Honestly, Steve, pull the codes. That'll give you a very good idea what the issue is before you start getting dirty.

How do I do the codes Nick?
