I've been trying to check the recall status of my car.
The Jap site comes back with just 4 recalls applicable for my car but I seem to have read of others - some more involved. I've tried the search without too much success to get a definative list of recalls we should be entitled to.

The full list I found was:

Air volume control device for Aspire Buroafan
Front suspension and three models (lower arm)
ASC Series
fuel tank

Are these the only recalls for the VR4 and could somebody explain the scope of work involved.

UK website = http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/enquiries/enquiries.asp

Please submit a customer enquiry off the link (above). Please be sure to state the Chassis number and registration plate of the vehicle. You will then receive a response as to whether or not your vehicle is subject to a Recall Campaign.

Lower arms were due to the rubbers on the balljoints not sealing and letting in water and dirt, causing lower ball joint failure, (although a few people have had this failure on new balljoints)

ASC is an important one, as your brakes will eventually fail under pressure!, it involves removal of the gas (hydrogen) pressure sphere on the ABS block, the gas leaks past the seals letting bubbles into your brakefluid, (similar condition to excessive moisture in your fluid), which basically means that when you push the brakes hard, the fliud compresses rather than the brake calipers!!, so no brakes.
REquires removal of the ABS unit and replacement of a few brake lines in the engine bay.

Fuel filler was a leak issue in the filler neck

I think there is another popular one, but can't remember at the mo

Yeh, that's the 4 that came up. Only one not done was the "Air volume control device for Aspire Buroafan".

However, I thought I read somebody have something connected with rough running - or was that for (dare I say it) a lesser variant?

Was poking around in OZVR4 and found reference to these third party pages about recalls for JDM & UK sourced cars:

JDM LEGNUM
http://dogandlemon.com/site/japanese-vehicle-recalls/?make=MITSUBISHI&model=LEGNUM

JDM GALANT
http://dogandlemon.com/site/japanese-vehicle-recalls/?make=MITSUBISHI&model=GALANT

UK GALANT
http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/recalls.jsp?&makeName=Mitsubishi&modelName=Galant&modelID=A5&makeId=C8&lowIndex=0

The legnum link above has given me SIX recalls not the four from the Mitsi Site! The recall reference numbers are

RJ-0115-0
RJ-0494-0
RJ-0646-0
RJ-0784-0
RJ-1003-0
RJ-1402-0
