View Full Version : Towing with a VR4
I have read some useful info on here reference towing with a VR4 but has anyone done this a lot (with an auto) and if so, have you had any problems?
Presumably I just need a towbar and a gearbox cooler fitted?
Any other advise?
TIA :)

Has the Toybota broken down ?? Is it needing a lift home:uhoh::happy:
Check towing weights but otherwise I thinks thats all you need. The NZ guys
seem to do more towing.

That's about the size of it, Jane.
I haven't done any towing with a VR4 but have considered it a few times. Tow bar is obviously essential(!!) and ATF cooler adviseable.

I towed Haggisman in his Galant GLS from Bath to Yate (about 20 miles) in my VR-4.
I've had an autobox cooler fitted, and it was wonderful to tow with - plenty of power and smooth as anything :)
I used a solid bar, as opposed to a rope - MUCH better!

If towing and going on track it's essential that you have an ATF cooler...

Don't panic Chris, we won't be towing on track :p

I guessed not but you know, if on track AND towing, you need that cooler!
Well known advice from Witter...
