I thought you lot could do with a laugh :d

Below is one of my infamous Mk2 Mexico Ford Escorts which I built many years ago. This was the best one out of the lot.

I got this back from the body work shop and put it on 4 axle stands and took everything of the car so it was just a completely bare shell.
Within 3 weeks and 5 days the car was fully built including the engine with an MOT and tax on it.

Funny thing which was really spooky is I got it on the road the day it was originally registered.

I was speaking to Nutter_John on our mini meet and he thought I should of put this on with a title from the 80`s.

A friend (pictured) was there some of the time helping me with the awkward stuff.

I knew these cars inside out and probably still do, just need the grey matter to move along a bit quicker./Hmmm

If you cant see the write up then I`ll try to post up more pickies with just text, but I was a little annoyed about the details as I never quoted a lot that was said within this magazine, the editor got the push around 6 months latter. Says it all really.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the article and the minder style pose!!

That was a good mod, but had to be reversed back to a straight cut 4 speed trans X box to which I had to put the scissor jack in the foot wells with some sturdy wood and wind it back in until I could refit the normal mount.

As for where it is now I don`t have a clue mate. I just checked my car checker and it is still sorn.

I stripped it out and sold all the parts seperatly way back in late 97` as way back then they were worth more than the complete car, OH Sh1t is that the other way round now bud. Only for hind site hey dude. KERCHING now!!

Cheers Karl, I am proud mate but I did`nt really like the way the write up was done with the mistakes in the modified section that was`nt quoted by me.

I did enjoy getting the car featured and being a small Island it got a lot of attention for many months.

I then took the strips of and put the original Mexico strip kit back on then changed the wheels to gold minilights and put a straight cut gearbox in it which you could do 62mph in 1st gear.

Several more changes took place over the year.
