If you are going this route buy a kit from here http://www.highpower.freeserve.co.uk

You can also take out insurance on your engine which protects you if one of Trev's kits does any damage.

You will start off with a 25bhp increase and Trev will tell your if it is okay to go onto more power.
I'd say 100bhp increase max but you are better off asking on their forum and read all the details.

I think you should let your engine decide.

Start small and monitor it closely, if you have a weak component nitrous oxide will find it, for the amount it costs to repair things on this car you'd be a fool not to.

i seen a vr4 legnum on the net from japan it looked lovely. it boasted 1000bhp from an estate car, i have tryed for ages to find this site again. this was about 3 years ago. i have now bought one and need at least 500 bhp. i will get there even if it kills my engine LOL....

Good luck to you then!:D
Don't forget to uprate the internals if you're going for big power.

According to Ralliart
0-60 is 6.1 secs but I would imagine this depends on various stuff
How much fuel your carring
Octane level prev 98+
Weather temp Turbo cars arent happy on humid days
the list goes on

According to my Ralliart brochure, the VR-4 auto estate INSERT INTO post VALUES (the official UK ones weren't Legnums) takes 7.0s to get from 0-62mph and maxes out at 142mph, but we all know they're quicker than that ;)

I have a "Highpower" system on our MX5. Started with the 25 bhp jets, you really shouldn't go higher than this to begin with, and it's only about £10 to go up a jet size.

Up at 75 bhp jets now, without a progressive controller and the car is flying. Beating Scooby Imprezas up the quarter mile, MUCH to their surprise, lol.

The 5 is also Supercharged by the way, and has an uprated fuel pump and AFR. But apart from that the engine is standard, no fancy internals and it's done about 110K miles , 6 years of track use in there too ;)

Anyway, enough of the Mazda. My point is, build it up slowly. You really don't want to break the VR4. It's not really the money thing, it's the parts availability in this country. Nothing worse than waiting about for parts for 6 months and your car sitting rusting in a garage.
