As Nick's original thread of trax is now 6 pages long, & takes a bit of trawling through to see whats what. I [we] thought it timely to start a new thread [ seeing as It's only 4 days away :-b ]

We need to know/confirm;

exactly who is stopping at the Ibis in Wellingborough.

The time we plan on arriving there saturday [ not essential, but would be cool If we arrived around the same time !! ]

The god forsaken time we have to be up sunday morning in order to meet with those who are not stopping overnight.

where & what time we are meeting the non-stopovers !! & what time we plan to depart.

What route we are taking to Silverstone [ to avoid queues ] we dont want to lose each other in the convoy !!

also, any other thoughts you may have in order to make the weekend go smoothly.

Derek. :-b

Betty and I are staying over, not sure what time were going to be leaving, shes got work (finishes at 2pm) then 2 hours driving lesson.. so we may not be leaving here till 4pm.. however this needs to be confirmed.

6/6:30 seems like a good ( :rolleyes5 ) time ti leave Ibis.

The esteemed Mr Physician and myself will be mini-convoying down from Leicester at 5:30, so we should be at J15 by just gone 6 I would imagine.

I liked the sound of Nick's secret bat cave entrance, depending on where this is, or whether you'll be closer to J15/15a for a meet-up? Be good if we could.

Yes, that's fine by me but I still don't understand how the Ibis group are going to get to the actual services ....... UNLESS they know a rear/back entrance otherwise they would have to travel up to junction 15 and then down the motorway to get into the services at 15A. :sad3:

We are staying overnight and will probably arrive at the IBIS around 3 to 4 pm - I guess there is no-one wanting to mini convoy from the SW :(

We will then go to bed at about 4.30pm to ensure that we are up at whatever god awful hour you are intending to leave on Sunday - only kidding - just let us know what time and we PROMISE we will be in the car and raring to go (Well, Heath will, I may be asleep :) ).

I am 99% sure that the services at junction 15a are accessible from the A43, which is the road to silverstone. I suggest we leave there at 6:30 in the morning. MEETING ON THE SOUTHBOUND SIDE. This will equate to the 6:00 departure from the hotel.

For saturday, how about meeting at the watford gap services at 4ish? Not far after the M6 joins the M1!

Tally Ho! :-D

The AA back up Nick's local knowledge too 'cos like a big saddo :$ I've just done a route from Wellingborough to Silverstone to simulate where you'll be coming from, here's a snippet:

13.80 0.80 A5076 Junction with Hunsbury Hill Road
At roundabout take 2nd exit Take left hand lane

14.30 0.50 A5123 Junction with A5123
At roundabout take 1st exit A5123 (signposted Oxford, Motorway M1)

15.60 1.30 A43 Junction with M1 (NORTHAMPTON SERVICE AREA)
At roundabout keep forward and at ensuing roundabout forward

18.60 3.00 A43 Junction for Blisworth

So, meeting at the service area sounds good to me, but I think Rich and I will be there by 6:15 at the latest.....fancy making it then, guys? Front of the queue, etc, etc..... :)

If we get away at 6:00, it should only take 20 mins to get to the services.

If we are incredibly organised or leave Heath and Jane behind, then we may get there for 6:15!!

Exxxcellent.....! So, no chance whatsover, then!

Maybe Dave can rent another trailer like the one used for collecting project VX - doesn't matter if Heath and Jane fall asleep then, does it?

How cool would that be? A VR4 towing another VR4 to a track day?!! :-b

Ok boys and girls, I'm just packing up ready to leave. I have a nice shiny car ready to massacre some flies on the A50!

I'll see you at half five, Rich, and then we'll see the rest of you at the J15 services (in the car park???) at about 6:15ish

Have a good night, all :) (.....don't get too plastered!)
