I for one, am going to inflate my tyres to around 36/38 psi. NOW !!! :rolleyes5 :rolleyes5 remember the rush & panic we had at castle coombe ?? I ended up only getting my nearside front upped !! :$
I'm sure it wont hurt doing It a day or so before ??
I'm also bringing a spare helmet, for my son, Joe. I know they say NO PASSENGERS, but, you never know !! best be safe than sorry !

I'll also bring along a few rolls of tape for the headlights. last time we fought over one roll

any other pre race suggestions ?? best to get them sorted now I think. :-b

Stoopid question - do they sell Optimax at Silverstone? 5-7mpg scares me a little, and I'll probably only have 1/2-2/3rds of a tank by the time I get there.

Perhaps the Ferrari pit may have some left over from the GP!

Trax Preparation - bring jerry cans?!

I still can't get over how a medium sized engine can drink so much.

At that rate it's drinking the equivalent of 8 pints in a 150-180 second lap. :rolleyes5:

They have racing fuel pumps at Silverstone, (I think around 100 octane and over £1 a litre!) but they have stated in the blurb that they sent me that no fuel will be available on site.

Top up that tank!

I am still running on borrowed time! I will be replacing them on Friday/Saturday and bedding them in. I will also take the borrowed set and some spare discs too...........Derek did say he had some so it would be nice if he brought them along. Not saying people will cook their brakes, but better safe than running around trying to find some!

Anybody organising insurance for the day? Know of any good places?

I'm going to ring around now and see what people are charging for it, I haven't up till now because I had convinced myself it would be stoopid money.

Might as well have a laugh finding out though....

Yep, up to 50 cars!

There is an insurance company there on the day. They appear to be able to offer cheap insurance and you can buy it there and then.

I would wait for that rather than spend £100's now.

Thanks for that Nick, I'll wait and see then. :)

50 cars a session.....hmmm, that's rather a lot to keep an eye out for. Did the organisers ask you for details of the cars we drive in an effor to keep similar spec cars together? Or can I expect there to be everything from Nissan Micras to Ferrari Enzo's? :rolleyes5 :rolleyes5

No questions apart from the number of cars.

E reg XR2's with the full bling factor up to legit supercars I would imagine. I think most are likely to be quite quick!

Should have listened to your advice, Derek - think I'm turning into a sad case - just finished washing a perfectly clean car :(

Did it 5 days ago AND driving 3 hours plus tomorrow - what is the point :dozey:

I have spent an hour today cleaning off the oily shine that the previous owner put all over the interior plastic! The shine and smell was overbearing, but the sticky feeling on your hands from the steering wheel was worse!!

Just hoover and a quick wash'n'wax tomorrow.
