Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the legnum shares the same AC compressor as the evo?

The reson i ask is on monday night the legnum broke down at leicester forest east services. It seems the compressor jammed and then heated the belt which then snapped. Leaving me without AC or PS and probably even water pump? (Good job we were stopped in the services at the time!)
Anyway i had the car recovered back home and after a quick google i found FQ-Performance over in Brackley. They do a lot of evo stuff so i gave them a call. He said they had worked on vr4's before so i had the car taken over there today.
He gave me a call earlier and said the same as the AA's guy. He has had a look at the compressor, and as far as he can tell it looks exactly the same as the evo's unit. So has found a 2nd hand one that is being sent to him to see if it is.

I just thaught i should ask you guys. To him it makes sense that it would probably be the same part. And i can understand if it is. Its the same with Toyotas on many parts. Suspention and brakes are more or less interchangeable between mk3 supras and soarers and mk4 supras and Aristo's etc.
/thankyou

No idea if it is the same. It is the same on the standard V6 though.

Thanks Denise. You 2. Hope you java a good Xmas.

The car has been fine. Flawless in the snow and it coped well at the supra owners club trackday at llandow in Wales :)

The ac pump is the same as the evo. However the pulpy is slightly different. We had to take it back as after a day it stopped blowing cold again but was drivable. Another pump thing was fitted but it again stopped blowing cold after a few days. We have left it now until we need it again. Garrage don't know what's up with it. It is holding pressure and there are no leeks and the pump isn't faulty. It's odd

Heya!

I know it has been a while, but I don't log on so much now I don't have my Leggie!

I hope you got sorted with a Legnum ac pump, I don't think the evo parts are as conveniently bolt on as you'd hope. It was always a great thing on a warm day, even though we don't get many of them!

I'm sorry to hear you've had a bump, is there much to repair?

Ive still got the sale pics if you want me to email them to you.

I still miss that car, my petrol cr-v is not so exciting nor as luxurious, but I can afford to run it to Belfast everyday!

Hope you both are well

Hi! Its still with no aircon :( we took it to a specialist who found all the pipework full of crud from when the first one seized. So although the pump we have now works the rest of the system is full of crap and so air on doesnt work. Got a big quote to have the bits replaced but havent had tine to repair it. Its a bit down the list on money spending priorities as we can live without it. Just use the supra when its realy hot :)

I did have a bump but just cosmetic damage. I realligned the front bumper best i could and replaced the grill and headlight but needs the bodyshop to get it looking propperly 100%... again. Just money...
