ok so im beginning to think my car has lost some of its original horsepower, either that or im just getting use to it. But either way 170bhp from a 2.5 v6 is hardly pushing it!

so my question is how can i get some of them horsies back and even get some more. what things realisticly could be done to improve the power?

cheers

The V6 was stated as doing 161 bhp from the factory , Lboots pushed his upto 170 bhp with the usual mods , but that about it

The engine is smooth with lots of torque , it is not s screemer or harsh

How do you get more power you ask , buy a vr4

Have you had the car on a dyno to see what it's doing now , as you may not be even making 161bhp

Famous words ahead

Suck it and see , then ask the question :)

IIRC the last V6 I saw a dyno result for had lost 0 bhp at all and was running spot on 161 bhp

The Jap spec ones had 175bhp, so with a bit of ecu tuning there is room to improve. They did only have one cat though and no O2 sensor after the cat.

They also run on 100 ron fuel which we cant , the V6 ecu is also not flashable and it needs two cats and 4 lambdas to pass the emissions test

Hah nope.... the jap spec n/a v6's are designed for normal jap fuel, not their super. I beleive their normal petrol is 93 or 94 octane?

my petrol cap say use at least 94. i use 95 usually as cnt always afford the super as i do quite alot of driving.

There is no need to go higher than 95 on the jdm spec ones, so I can't imagine there would be a good reason to on the ukdm ones either.
