In the process of organizing a dyno day for us fellas.

Basically looking to see who is going to be wanting to be doing a bit of tuning, and who is wanting to be doing just a power run.

Power run will be about $60, tuning is to be decided.

I will be on a Saturday either end of October/ Early November.

Will try and keep it to club members, as there will be limited time in the day, and we pay per car not per day.

Can you please post here what you will be interested in, and I will update this post.

So Far
Tuning:

Taylor
Adam
Carl
.
Power run:

Johnny
Dale
Scott

Ive been and spoken to the guys at NZEFI. They said for one day ideally 4 people for tuning max and then another 5 for power runs. However tuning would be limited to 4 runs, so road tuning first would be required.

well i was speaking to geoff today and he said we can sell my tune to people refine it on the road the day before the dyno day and then flash factory map on for one power run and then the tuned map to see the increase in power
for a small fee of course but does that sound good?
and kayne im pretty sure yours is the only car in bits at the moment :)
we can road tune everyone that wants it, geoff and i are going to have a crack at upping the boost on the factory solenoid this week too man so people dont have to fork out for a boost controller

plus the in the tune for those outside of out friend group
so far we have
-propper AFR's via map tracing and wideband tuning
-advanced timing for more low down torque and general more torque through the rev range
-remove speed cut
-lift boost cut
and we are still working on upping the boost on the factory solenoid
if anyone is keen for this kind of tune either post up here or contact me or taylor directly

As long as tuning doesn't completely anally ream me (money wise) sign me up for one as well. AKA, I call shotgun on one of the two remaining slots :P

well considering all of this is based on the kind lending of your openport cable and your evoscan software you are a part of the tuning team lol
and taylor good point you and i can have a crack at it tomorow and if we can get a noticable difference we can use geffs know how to get it right

Actually $60 might tempt me to power run green machine for similar reasons to Jonny. For the BBQ we just need to arrange with SCott to get of him the day before or something, unless he's keen to come cook for us.

Do it. could only be $50 if we go with spec

Warmed the PostMower(tm) down on this thread. If there is a real problem as to how this, or other events, have been organised, then discussing it on the thread is not the option. Keep it on track please! :)

Where did my post go? I thought I said something about seeing the afr curves on the 2.4 gdi?

As per usual, the post mower is meddling in NZ region posts where it doesn't belong and is removing valid questions and info

Put me down for at least a power run.

Under cruise a GDI should be above 20:1. I'm curious to see if at WOT it ever gets anywhere near that high, or if it dips down quite quickly. I trust you normally run it on 98 octane Johnny?

Johny
23-09-2010, 05:50 PM
lol nope always 95 only sometimes 98

bradc
23-09-2010, 07:52 PM
You should go for a tank of 98 before the dyno

Johny
