Not even in your wildest dreams.... :p Thats what the other VR4`s thought on Sunday as well.

I seem to remember Pete saying he let me past on the main straight. However next lap he was no where to be seen in my rear view mirrors. ;)

Where`d he go???? Where`d who go :) To quote a great film from my teenage years :)

First of all liberally coat the bonnet in masking tape so its easy to mark up and you dont scratch it to buggery! :lipsrseal

OK so I cant drive round with it looking so white for however long it takes for my tailgate to arrive (yes Nick the bodyshop are going to prep and paint it properly).................So as a temporary solution a tin of special mix paint and some masking tape and it looks a little less in yer face! :lipsrseal

No problem!! he'll have a motorized unmbrella that will cover it when it rains, it will even be designed in a wedge shape so it can also effect downforce and aid traction.

it is not my cup of tea but I think it looks good, I am looking at either venting my bonnet or going for a carbon fibre/fibre glass bonnet and desinging a full cold air intake system.

What is your intake chamber made from, is it heat wrapped ? I find that most of the heat around that area seems to come up from the gear box or underneath the air box

Just my opinion.

I totally believe it, and props to enigma for doing all the work (really good job) and envisaging what it looks like. Obviously a few fans on here too! :D

I apologise in advance, but I absoloutely hate it: I don't like the look, and I think the airfilter setup is a bit dodgy, especially as the top of the bonnet is a negative pressure area at speed.

But it's not my car, so as long as YOU like it (and plenty of other people on here will obviously disagree with me, so good luck to you!) then well done. It looks really well executed, which is the main thing, so well done :)

Nick Mann
05-02-2008, 11:02 PM
Heh! 'tis an old thread. The bonnet was done and is real. Assuming the new owner decided to keep it.

The intake didn't work very well, AFAIK. I suspect now because the maf hates air flow that is not linear, but at the time I didn't have the knowledge to suspect it. Not sure Dave did either?

And it is not a bonnet for me either. I've said it until I've bored the pants off people around me - I like the stealth factor!!

pitslayer

i might do something like this, going to get a pattern part bonnet, or a good used one of mo, and put a vent in. but i dont like massive vents, i like the little triangle vent on the side of the evo bonnet, so might fit one in

Absolutely! It certainly raised a few eyebrows when it turned up at the following meet...."yes Dave, hmm....yeah, that's er.....different".

To be fair to him though, wasn't this the time he was going up against the Pod announcer that called his car a Legacy?! "No, it's %&*ing not!"
