Replacing the air con fan in the passenger footwell

I have removed the blower fan motor (under the glovebox) and can't get it back. The rubber sheet under the carpet is stopping it.

Any advice?

Need to wiggle it a little bit, and pull it back a little, to get that mounting lug in behind it. Yes it a very tight fit.
