Have you even driven an auto one Mike??? You might be suprised by one...

Until sat, I never had driven a manual one, and have to say that there is not much difference on open road driving... in town/traffic the auto is even better....

Yup, ive driven one. But i prefer manuals, unless its a V8. Also the auto gear boxes can cost big $$$ if they are rooted, is that right?

Depends on what level they are stuffed... I have known 3k rebuilds(to brand new specs). If an auto is looked after it can last a loooong time before attention... I have seen most guys go through clutchs/diffs long before an auto box going(and am not saying the auto's are indestructible)...

Time ive had my gearbox out and replace what ever is going wrong with it and have the clutch replaced prob going to be looking at around the 3k figure. So it goes both ways i guess
