I've just had the 36k service done at yet another dealer and they filled it with bog standard semi-synthetic oil (Magnatec or similar). However, the other times I've had it serviced the dealer has used fully synthetic.

Apart from the massive price difference (about £6 a litre) does anyone know what actually should be used in the V6 please? (V6 Sport and not a VR4).

Thanks.

The service data says part-synthetic 10w/40.

Full synthetic 5w/50 or similar should be ok, but I'm not sure if the thinner oil will affect the way the lash adjusters pressurise. :undecided

RE: Lash Adjusters, My dealer said an additive could help.

However, I don't like additives now.

on the topic of additives, Kirks told dad that we should use Proma with Fully Synthetic oil and the noise should go.......wrong its still there, you just have to get used to it.
