Does anyone know any mobile wheel arch rollers that would cover somerset??

Looks like i'm going to need to roll the rear arches before the 18's go on.

Why?

Due to the ride-height i think, the wheels look like they are going to foul on the wheel arch lip at the rear.

I havent test fitted them yet so they might go, they are evo fit (6 i believe). I will try when things have thawed and i can get the jacks out without ending up on my ass.

My current 17"s will scrub over a bump, but I dont think in the same place.

Looking at spec, i think they are 8x18 et30

No, but the only thing I would watch with arch rolling and rear arches on these cars is rust, so would be best to properly clean the inner lip first, then wire brush, then Kurust and apply some underseal before rolling, as most VR4s have been in the UK long enough now for the rear arches to start rusting away.

18x8 30mm will need a bit of a roll, you're definitely better to do that before you put the wheels on.

Well, im in a bit of a catch 22.

Car has no MOT or tax, and i Need these new wheels and tyres to pass the MOT.

Will it be ok without the arches rolled for an mot until I can take it somewhere? (assuming no load in the back)

If the wheels stick out beyond the wheel arch then that alone is an mot failure , can you not borrow some wheels from a localish member just for the mot ?

Possibly, but the brakes need doing too, so was going to go for the 360mm rotors, hence the 18" upgrade, i think im buggered either way really. Tried arch enemy and they dont cover somerset.

Nutter_John, are you saying that an et30 offset, will push the wheels wider than the arch?

My previous Nissan wheels were ET30. Wheels stuck out of arches and I had to fit fender flares. Evo Enkeis are ET35 and fits allright.

Jay there is a good post by Bradc where he desribes how the offsets work , suggest you have a read of that and see .

But et30 is closer to the hub by 5mm and 17" enkeis are 8" wide so if your new wheels are the same wdith you should be ok , but if they are 9" wide then you may struggle . It also depends on the design of the wheel and if you have fender flares (facelift) as these count as part of the arch

Right there on!!!

Rears came incredibly close to the arches and would have touched with a load (e.g a fat driver), this was solved with a very gentle message with a baseball bat so its drivable until i get them rolled professionally.

Has someone painted the rear end Satellite silver instead of Hamilton?

Not to my knowledge. Paint always looks different between metal / plastic.

My skyline was the same.

Looking good - love the thought of a baseball bat to it! Now wash the car to match the wheels.....................................

That car is pretty low so they sit fine. If the car was at stock height then those wheels would be proud of the guards.

It looks good, well done :) The aussies will be very happy.

But the Assusie can't hit anything with a bat :p

Lol, now just for the 360mm discs with powder-coated Brembos, then she will be back with vengeance!!!
