I had to get out and take some photos of my Galant V6 today to email over to my insurance broker as evidence of its condition for my Agreed Value policy, so I thought I'd share them on here too.

I haven't given Pyrenees a proper wash, just a hose down with a 'rinse only' programme at the power wash. Those of you who know the car know it is usually in ping-clean condition! :p

Lovely example of a Galant there Philip.

Would you mind if I asked how much you are valuing the car at, for the policy? I would reckon it'd be worth a lot more than the current going rates for V6 Galants.

Folks, thank you for all the kind comments! She hasn't been cleaned since last summer, just regular water only rinse downs at the jet wash, so the photos are in a 'raw' condition.

Atik, no problem! ;) The car is underwritten for the purchase price of £6,000 when I bought her from a main dealer at Christmas 2007, One owner with 49k miles on the clock. In the three years I've had her I've added another 20k on - so not much driving!

I've managed to find one company willing to insure me on an Agreed Value policy on a vehicle so 'new' as usually they have to be around 20 years old with many restrictions to the policy. I'm paying around £40 a year more to have an Agreed Value on top of my a fully comprehensive insurance policy.

Wow, that is a spectacular price, but one that I honestly believe fairly reflects this car. Awesome.

Heh, at the end of the day, a car is only worth what it is to the owner - and it is obviously worth a lot to you :)
The books may state that a car of a certain age in a certain condition will be worth a certain amount. But then one that has been meticulously maintained or ridiculously modified would be valued totally different to an average car. In the same way, my car with all its customised bits and modifications is still only a PFL car to anyone else. But to me it's two and a half years worth of effort, memories, money, etc. It will never mean that much to anyone else.

Couldn't agree with you more! Which is why I don't understand people who don't respect their own cars and others. I love it when I see well maintained cars, 5 years + and older, looking ping clean on the road. I recently admired a 20 year old Golf CL in immaculate condition when I went to have my tyres changed. Even the interior was as new and it had its factor fit stereo still fitted!

Get those clean photos up, when yours is clean and put mine to shame! Adam, there's a step by step 'How To' on here on how to wire up VR4 front fog and turn lights and the parts you need. I put it together with the help of g6acb at the time. It's titled 'Wiring facelift VR4-style turn lamps.'

By the way Adam - and everyone else - thanks again for your kind comments! :-)
