Hi Everyone,
I have seen these on a few cars but none here. As I intend on moving my number plate I think this would beneeded to break it up a bit. Anyone got any idea what they are called or where I can get one from (evo style vent thing)?

Cheers

Chris

It looks the same / similar as off an Evo 7 but wonder if you can buy just that bit anywhere as a replica part?

Saw them on ebay a while back. I considered something similar to improve airflow to intercooler, but the crash bar is directly behind that part of the bumper, so I didn't bother.

Crash bar thing is correct but I just like the look of them!!
Found them - made by a US guy. Did a limited run - have PM'd him to see if he will make any more and ship to UK. $110 + shipping. If I have any luck do you want one?

Question, how close behind the bumper is the crash bar? Right behind, ie within 10mm of the bumper or is the gap bigger? Ta

I'm up for this. I've been looking for Evo 7 one but can only seem to find entire bumper which don't fancy buying just for that (unless I take moulds & people want to buy)? If not certainly up for a group buy from US

Chris, Triggermauve on TGC has a new OE evo7 bumper vent for sale at $175. He used to visit this club as well. Maybe a PM? His price includes postage to the states - shouldn't be a lot different to UK?

Seem, that you guys fancy few holes in a bumper.
IMO, beside of decoration pointless mod. Crash bar sits just 1/2 in behind and blocking all possible air flow in a pfl models, although in fl models there is a bit bigger room behind bumper... 1 inch :curtain:

If it's just for the looks, why not buy the original part? MR957826

Somehow I had the feeling that it wouldn't be too bad. Much better than the aftermarket ones, and it's in multiple colours available too!

Ideal, just been on the phone to mine aswell. Special order 14 day delivery from Japan but at that price, can't complain. Have some rep :)

I take it this is just so you can move the number plate to the side yes?

kryton, do as i have done in nearly all my modded cars that have the fornt pltes smoothed off, carry "back up" vinyl ones on the rear seat when/if you get pulled, look shocked its not there, and say you think you remeber seeing something white flutter off in the rear view mirror, then tell him not to worry, u have a spare!! then gently peel only 10mm of the backing paper from each end, proceed to make it look likeyour sticking the plate on, then once round the corner remove and reuse another day :)

Of course, you guys are obviously just joking, as coming online and condoning an illegal activty would be tantamount to walking into a police station and confessing - I mean, the police are hardly likely to know what the internet is, let alone how to get a court order to force the club to hand over your details, and all your posts, so that they can be used as evidence against you.........right?

rofl, iv never had a problem before :p plus the car i "currently" drive has a plate, so not an issue :p

Yep, just a bit of light humour. I started a thread about relocating a couple of months back. Trouble is, the place I was originally going to put it now has washer jets there so may just end up bolting it into the tow eye cover. I'm even mid process sticking one of my private plates on to make it small enough to fit without having illegal fonts. That should keep them happy :d

Edited: Think I will wait til the plate is on though & got some made up & stick it on, step back & see where looks best.

what about using a evoX number plate holder and shift to the LHS of the bumper? they are approx £25 from the dealer.
