/Welcome

Manual or auto?

At same revs in every gear?

Only when at full throttle?

Any idea on when various fluids have been changed?

Any noise accompanying the shuddering?

manual box, same revs in any gear , only at full throttle, the guy i got the car from said he changed the diff oil but no recipe to prov so not 100% sure,
theres no noise at all just shacking ,not clicking, dum sounds from the diff when changing gear at full throttle ,,
what could it be ? thanks for the reply

Sorry, it's not too clear when and what noises it's making?

It's not an exact science, but where does it feel like the shuddering is coming from? Front or back? Can you feel it through the steering wheel? Pedals? Car generally?

As it's at the same revs, I would be thinking that something in the drivetrain, engine side, is slightly out of balance - perhaps it's had a clutch change, but the flywheel hasn't been changed or skimmed?

If it was the diff, it would be speed dependent really, and have no correlation to which gear you're in. So I'd rule the diff out, along with any of the drivetrain components from the gearbox (output) to the wheels.

If you are getting a surging (power fluctuations) I would be thinking about ignition issues such as the plugs being stuffed. 5000 is around peak power and this is where plug problems first show. Also check your engine mounts etc.

hi

can,t feel it thought the steering wheel at all , feels like the front drive train, the abs light comes on after awhile of driving so must be drivetrain relative problems or something , the car generally shacks when under hard load ,if you gradualy accelarate slowly puting your foot down and bring it up to the high reves in any gear it doesnt vibarate at all, i ve notice to day that the drivers side engine mount is cracked and needs replacing could this be the problem ?

The engine mount does sound like a likely culprit!

It definitely needs changing, so worth doing anyway, and then seeing if it resolves the issue.

Let us know how you get on. :)
