View Full Version : Where to put Amp?

Hi from sunny Cornwall! Can anyone advise a good place to put my shiny new Amp? Pref not the boot, as i have a seperate Active Sub back there, the new amp is for powering the door speakers. Cheers!

Enough room under the front seats. Unless there is a CD changer under the passenger seat.

The front seat is easy to remove as well - four bolts. BUT, if you do this, be wary of the plugs under the seat - the yellow (IIRC) plug is the SRS side airbag plug (assuming you having them) and you should only have this unplugged if the ignition is off, and stays off. If you turn the ignition on while it is unplugged, you will get an SRS error, that can only be removed by a main dealer with a MUT II/III unit.

Great, sounds good to me. I had a look under the drivers seat and it looked a bit closed in but i read somewhere else that this was a good place. Guess the glovebox is no good?

Possible, but the whole glovebox moves, rather than just the door.

Lee good job dude but remember if you have the pipe coming out from under the seat for the rear heating & you have it on hot you could fry the amp.

Oh yeh thanks i didnt think of that. Will check it out today. I never have the heating above 19degrees even in the coldest weather, i find its way too hot over that!

yh i looked under passenger seat and space was even tighter. whole bunch of wires and stuff.

wires and stuff?? out of what? lol mine has nothing in it anymore. thats where my amp was.. owell maybe theres a difference between your and mine lol

When i say wires, i really mean a few cables, i guess from the passenger seat. and a box of some sort.

CD changer normaly is under passenger seat. Love the std set up in mine :)

If it's a wagon there is masses of space inside the wings in the back. Plenty of room for an amplifier in there.
