Today me and my wife spent all day cleaning/restoring/conditioning the bought black leather interiour from a V6 N/A UK car, so electric/motorized, heated and with airbags. It was very dirty and looked tired. Part by part we cleaned and swapped over. It took all day, but the result is great. Exactly like mitsi should have delivered from factory IMO. But Mitsi never delivered this interiour in VR4's, the only 'extra' they added to the VR4 interiour is the seatbelt-'sensor' for the driver seat. As I wanted to preserve that I swapped that over from the VR4 frontseat to the leather seat.

While I was at it, I tried to clean up the upholstry on the ceiling (don't know what the english name is, the (exact translated) dutch word is "heaven") . It was quite dirty and had several smudges and black smears which were there since we got the car 4 years ago. Last year I decided I would upholster it in black skai-leather, but... Meguirs APC 1:10 did wonders! It looks very, very good and fresh again!

I connected a direct battery feed with proper gauge wiring to wire up the seats motors, which worked straight away, so very pleased. Next challenge is hooking up the heating controls. No hurry for that the comings months though :) The airbags is an entirely other matter. I don't even know if it's been done before, hooking them up in a VR4?!

One last part of the interiour I'll change (again) is the spare slightly customized centre console parts that I upholstered with black fake-leather. It looked quite good (almost perfect), but the warmest of days last summer made the glue loose it's grip and strength so it didn't look poper anymore. Now I've got even better matching black (fake) leather and professional 3M spray can glue stays good in extreme heat. I'll post that up again too as soon as it's finished.

Yep, roof lining, or head lining. I think I prefer heaven though! :)

And some VR-4s DID come with SRS side-airbags, as they could be specced from the factory.

Anyway, looking, VERY nice. :sunny:

Thanks for that Nev! I was sure Mitsi didn't offer it on VR4's, but it's never too late to learn!
