what is the size of the dash clock before i start stripping it apart?

I say because it would be interesting to fit my EBC in there if it has enough depth. my clock is finally starting to malfunction rather than a repair thinking of something like this but a working EBC. here (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?49337-It-s-Boost-a-clock)

I've got one in front of me and the depth of the clock itself (the hole it fits into may, and probably is, bigger) is 7.5cm absolute max.
Width-wise you're looking at around 16cm of usable space.
Height is approx 4cm.
These measurements are before you start encroaching on brackets, screws, fittings etc and don't forget that the space is a bit of a funny shape so some sections will be narrower.
If your controller is close to these measurements then your best bet is to pull out the clock (it's not too hard) and try your boost controller in the hole.

Ebc controller will fit if it is a stanard size, e.g. Turbo timmer size, edfc size, 1/2 din high 1/2din width wide.
i have an ebc fitted where the clock is but due to the fact you will need to get to some buttons on the front of the ebc. i don't Think you are going to be able to do a behind the original clock face install, you will have to remove the clock completely and do the install with a fabricated front panel.

The picture of mine( link above) i fitted the PLX in a diy pod using the clock cover as a base and the avcr which is the same size and button layout in the clock position.
I found you could still use everything well enough.
I trimmed some off the dash where the clock base would be as the width was fine but the corners of the avcr needed to go down a small amount.
Or make a new clock cover
