Here is a little bit of info i did not know, but seems obvious now.

you can see that the holes on the back of the dash that need short screws are marked with a little copper tag on the holes copper pad the longer screws do not have the little copper tag on the holes copper pad.
if you put the wrong screw in the wrong hole it can cause a number of problems one of which is the fuel gauge or water temp gauge will not light up.
