I am upgrading to a macbook pro 17" to use as a desktop substitute.

I have it from new in July 2008 and it is still under warranty (Applecare).

Processor : 2.00GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM : 4Gb
Hard Drive : 500Gb (21 days old)

DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive. New Superdrive (CD & DVD Writer) fited today.

2 x USB ports. OS is Snow Leopard (10.6.7).

It also has 1 x Firewire 400 port, which the newer ones don't have for some reason. It is in very good condition and has worked flawlessly.

£330.00

Plus delivery at cost.

I sorely wish I could afford this, the price is a bargain!

Yes - just checked on Ebay, and there have been some going for £350+ with smaller hard drives and less RAM.

The downside is I have spent my Legnum money :(

Whilst trying to do a fresh install of OS X a few days ago, the optical drive would not work properly.

New Superdrive (burns CD ad DVDs) fitted by Apple today.

Last chance to grab a bargain. :)

Not yet.

I will be searching for my camera and put up some pics - probably tomorrow.

Some preliminary photos (David Bailey - not!) :

Also, Apple put in a new battery. The old one was still OK, but the exterior was scuffed. /GJ

No, it's a later one. Not sure what the model designation is, but "T7300" brings up the specs from Google.

About this mac > more info. All will be revealed. T7300 is a core 2 duo CPU available in a few models. Grab the model number, chuck into the everymac.com search engine and you'll get every bit of info you need and most likely some you didn't :p

Installed latest OS this afternoon (Lion). Not been used for the past 2 months. Warranty expired last month.

Price is £350.00 including delivery (UK mainland only).

Apart from the CPU and motherboard, this is virtually a new machine.

[Sorry, I cannot see how to edit my original post :( ]

Anyone with an iPad2 want to do a swap + cash either way, depending on spec?

Hey Doug

Is this still available? Cosmetically, what is it like?

Thanks!
Philip

Yes, still available.

It's in good condition cosmetically. There were some scuffs underneath where the battery is, but Apple got rid of them by giving me new battery! The old one was still holding a good charge -92%, IIRC.

Meant to add that I could change the current hard drive for a 60Gb SSD, if storage was not an issue. It would be more like a macbook Air,

How much more would that be? I think the current would be fine. :-) Thanks, Doug!

The hard drives are ~ the same cost, so you can have either for the same price. The SSD is only a few months old.
