Before I have the cash to get some new teins + cert, i want to put some aftermarket springs in. Currently have dobi's in my lancer and was wondering what other brands are good. Guessing teins, dobi. What about king springs or jamex etc? Going to get super lows

This has been covered a bit...

Most of the springs available are for the 2wd galant/leggies.. So are a no go as they are the wrong spring rates..

Think that Teins and I think one more are good for our cars..

Neither, just want a 40mm + drop and a nice firm ride

I had kings in my galant and they seemed pretty good. IMHO I wouldn't put super lows in a legnum - when I had my tein coil overs in my legnum and they were wound down it would bottom out of everything!

I have a set of Tanabe Sustec springs here that I had in my STR. They were really good actually, but have just been sitting in the garage since I took the STR off the road.

Fit a VR4?

Yeah, the only reason I don't have them on my vr4 is that it has front canards and is low enough already on christchurch 'roads'.

Not in any exact sense, other than I thought it was about perfect.

I tried a set of them on my legnum once, and they were horrible. They really could have done with the damper adjust, as they were far too floaty.

It just has bilstein shocks. Its the front that annoys me the most and the body roll

rear strut brace will go a long way if you dont have one already,

IMO most of the lowering springs arnt up to the job, (to soft.. esp on our ****ty roads)
and you'll need to shorten the bilsteins if going fairly low so you dont hit the bump stops and **** them,

keep im mind most of the properly spec'd coil overs run 10-14kg front and 8-12kg rear

i wouldnt waste the 2-300$ + labour on springs, save it for good coilovers and a cert.

ps, Jamex are pants, and i dont rate Kings much higher.
