HI,

We're thinking of travelling to France in our VR4. Does anyone know what the petrol stations are like out there for filling up on 'super unleaded'.

Another question, which may sound think :rolleyes4 but can you run your import on normal unleaded petrol?

Ive just come back from Italy, (through France), and at the 5 or 6 motorway services I stoped at there and back had normal 95 and a 98 option.

I think all garages as Marc just said have 98ron fuel. Just remember to take all the neccessary travelling requirements with you, spare bulbs etc. Cos they can fine you if you haven't got them! We took the VR4 right across Spain and back in March, what a super drive over long distance, you'll enjoy it.

Another quick question, we have the round lights on the car, how do we adjust the beam when we get to France?

I used these - I was driving the Saab - But Galant was listed on the user guide though

They dont adjust the beam, it just blocks the part which would dazzle oncoming drivers.

Yep, they are ones to use. Very easy to put in the right place.

Another question, any idea what the fuel consumption would be like on a long run like that. I know we don't get much locally around town, but was hoping nearer the 30 on a long run?

Keeping to a steady 110kmh should achieve about 30mpg. :)

If it is going to be steady all the way, I would calculate estimated costs on 25mpg, to allow for the odd bit of stop/starting; then there's the Alps!

Oh yes, I remember you mentioned the headlight deflectors/blockers in another thread. What I would be looking at it whether the lighting pattern on low beam goes up at one side or not. If you park facing a wall/garage and put the low beam on, you should be able to see a line above which there is no direct light being cast from the headlights. RHD lights will normally have a deviation in this line on the left which goes up at an angle. This picture will show what I mean (although it is the pattern from standard lights, but it still illustrates my point):

47030

If yours cast a horizontal line which doesn't deviate upwards then you will not need anything to change them.

If you do have the deviation, I would fiddle around with small bits of black insulation tape until the light above the horizontal has been blocked out.

As yours are the Cibies, I don't know if the projectors have this deviation built-in or not.
