Transfer case / Rear Diff Oil

I have searched long and hard but cannot find an answer, i wonder if anybody can help ?
I know that the spec for the transfer case / rear diff oil is 75/90 gl5, but can i use 75/90 gl4/5 also or would there be problems ?

gl5 sae90 is the recommended grade in the owners manual, (personally i wouldnt put a gl4/5 in)

people use gl5 75w90 just fine,
