This is the passenger side driveshaft seal that I have just replaced. I'm concerned about the metal dust cover touching it as it looks like it could end up damaging the seal. Is this the correct fitment? I have fitted the seal flush with the surface of the transmission. There's no inside stop in the recess so am also suss about accidentally knocking it in too far.

should be fine. the sealing surface is on the inside and that is what matters.

Thanks Kenneth, it's not something I wanted to do again in a hurry.

Another member also just emailed me these pics (thanks Mookers). They are from a manual tranny but it's all the same. His seals look to be sitting out further than mine are so I guess I did good :)
