I just started stripping the spare dash panel I have for some work I have planned, and came across what looks like a light sensor on the dash.

It looks original as the sensor is built to fit the space. I wasnt aware that VR4s came with any sort of sensor there? What could this be for? It only has two wires going to it... blue/white and yellow black... but after the plug the wiring colour changes to yellow with silver spot and purple with silver spot.

Id guess it works with the Heating/AC system, Saab have a similar thing, cover up the sensor with the AC on and the blowers slow down

It's the sunlight sensor. Helps the climate control know how sunny it is so that it continues to blow cooler air if the sun is shining on you.

Ah! I wondered this too - I have iton my V6, no idea what is behind it, if itbis connected, but I did wonder.

Nice one, Marc and Lee, and Atik for the photos. It is hard to see when the dash is in place.

It's wired straight into the A/C panel
