I'm off to Santa Pod tomorrow, [ sun 31st Oct ]
My 12.96 sec run was just not fast enough !! :rolleyes5 so I'm out to try to improve on that time.
I've more nitrous now than when I recorded that time, so with a bit of luck, I think I can get down to 12.7 ish. :-b
My son, Joe, is stripping the car as I speak. !! whats not needed is going. seats, seat belts, carpets, trim, spare wheel !! etc.

anyone want to join me ??

I'm down in Leicester at this very moment, but I'm back up home tomorrow for work, so I won't make it I'm afraid. :(

Hope you have fun, anyhow.

I was going to come, but after a 5am start this morning for Cadwell....which was superb, btw... The weather held off and we shocked quite a few evo`s. One of which is pulling out over 370bhp couldnt get past us on the straghts. Dont get me wrong he was quicker than me but only slightly and not quick enough to get infront before the next bend on any of the straights including the 120mph up hill one.....anyway back to pod. I was going to go but after a 5 am start this morngin for cadwell Im now stuck on a customers site fixing their bloody servers....and will be most of the night so will have to give it a miss Im afraid.

What a great day! The weather was just perfect, cold and still.

I did 6 runs and the results in order are as follows:

Run 1
12.860 @ 107.14mph

Run 2
12.897 @ 105.43mph

Run 3
12.789 @ 106.57mph

Run 4
12.858 @ 105.37mph

Run 5
13.286 @ 101.32mph (Nitrous running out!)

Run 6
15.728 @ 55.12mph (Nitrous ran out so I gave up! :lipsrseal :rolleyes5 )

and here with the full rundown on the fastest run:

Reaction 0.750
60ft 1.800
330ft 5.252
1/8ET 8.141
1/8MPH 86.39
1000ft 10.594
1/4ET 12.789
1/4MPH 106.57

I am a very happy man! Just wish I did it when it mattered!

Using the 0-60 calculator I appear to have broken another barrier............

3.93 seconds!!!! :D

On one of my last runs, I did a 12.389 !! :rolleyes5 Dave was gutted !
But, looking at the time slip, something did not look right. my 60 ft time was just too damned quick compared to my 1/8th elapsed speed ??
I would like to think it was a legit time, but Dave & I think maybe the starter got in the way of the timing light, I dunno ??

Judge for yourselves;

60ft 1.237
330ft 4.773
1/8th e/t 7.771
1/8th mph 84.07
1000ft 10.185
1/4 et 12.389
105.12 mph

Christ!!

I'd better get my act together pronto or these big whales are going to beat me very shortly :veryangry

Well done on those times guys, thats absolutely brilliant. Thats good enough to embarass many things with a subby badge, which really is all that matters :D

And the 12.3 run... If I could see a legnum pull a 1.2 second 60ft, I'd publicly kick in my VR4 shouting "Stupid Stupid Stupid Stupid Car!!!" Add on the .7 or so extra that should be on the time and it matches up with your other ones.

Though I say frame it and wave it front of everyones faces anyway

And oh yeah, where would I find that 0-60 calculator? I'm curious!

not a prayer Richard !! mid 12's maybe, but lower ?? no chance.

my engine held out, but my gearbox was not best pleased with 3000 rpm launches. :rolleyes5 I think Dave & myself have just about reached the limit, I'm going to up my boost a shade, & have another go, but realistically, we can go no faster with standard internals.

I'm more than pleased with my 12.9, & Daves 12.7 [ jammy barsteward !! :lipsrseal :$ ] but to get lower is taking a massive risk in my opinion.

enigma
01-11-2004, 05:53 PM
Upping the boost did nothing for me!

I ran 12.7 with 0.7 Bar basic boost and 12.8 when I was up at 1.05 basic boost. The turbos just produce more heat so you can fiddle the boost all you like and you wont see huge gains!

My bhp calculator reckons you'd near near 550bhp to get sub-12s. You and Dave have posted some stunning times and really shown the rest of us what's possible. Well done! :-b

12,7 is a verry good time for stock internals, congratulations ;)
