Doing an engine rebuild and doing it properly. Can't get parts through Repco unfortunately (there go our trade prices lol) and would prefer not to go through Andrew Simms only because I know charge an arm and a leg. Does anyone have any clues on where to get new parts for a decent price?

or you just redoing the seals and pumps and stuff?

Not aiming for any particular HP, as not for racing aside from the occasional go down the strip. Looking at the prices for forged internals etc. Will be replacing a heck of a lot more than just the seals/pumps/bolts such as lifters etc as well.

Or should I say my partner is. We'll be spending a fair dash on this engine so hoping to make it as cost effective as poss (oxymoron I know).

Your websites are very helpful, though the jepistons one isn't NZ, was hoping for something a bit closer to home if there is anything lol.

Thanks, have to wait three weeks for bottom end bearings to get here from Japan. Snore.

Apparently I was told when people rebuild they do the top ends but not the bottoms. So fingers crossed they have all the parts for the top end without having to order them from Japan.

Prob not going with forged, but going through Andrew Simms Mitsi anyways, so all genuine.

I wonder if the bearings are produced at a factory in north eastern Japan?

You have to shop around to get this done =)

I brought all the bearing journals, and frost plugs from mitsi Chch, they sourced from Auckland. I thought they were quite good price wise.
http://www.speedtechnz.com/shop for internals, or find a site in the US.
http://www.nzgaskets.co.nz/catalogue/EngineDetails.aspx?EngineID=1357 regrind kit + seals
Fuel member here, for cam belt kit.
BNT for other bits and pieces.
You need a engineering shop, unless you have the skills to do the block and head work.
Also brought some gasket paper/fabric from shuk engineering. Only because of it resistance to oils/fuels and heat.

There are some good traders on trademe that have stores in Performance parts. For oil lines, plumbing work and fittings..etc

You really have to shop around, as there is no one place to go - well there is if you have deep pockets =)

Gl with the build =)
