An elderly friend came for tea yesterday and related a story he said he read in a newspaper recently.
A guy telephoned 999 to report some yobs vandalising his car outside his property. The Police apologised that they didn't have anyone available at that time and would respond as soon as someone became available.
Two minutes later he telephoned them again and told them not to bother as he had shot them all.
Three minutes later, four police cars arrived full of cops.
After arresting the yobs, the police started interviewing the complainant and cautioned him that he had lied when stating that he had shot them.
He told the police that he was merely following their example when they told him that no-one was available when he initially telephoned! :-D
