have i used wrong oil????

hi all i topped up car on tues with castrol 0w 30 before i did the tappety noise went after a couple of mins but since i topped up its worse alot louder and doesnt go away and the car seems to have lost power any info on this? also water was ok before oil top up but checked today and was completely empty please help think mitsi is dying

0w30 is fine. Fully synthetic is quite important too...

Keep an eye on the water, the level does fluctuate so as long as it is over the min level don't worry.

sounds more like headgasket than oil problem as your losing water have you noticed any leaks anywere ???
have you any cream around the oil cap or dip stick?????
check all breather pipes aswell ??
