Worth a read, and hopefully make us all a little more tolerant of those occasional road closures:

Good post Nev.

I am guilty of moaning that they close the roads at the drop of a hat, and sometimes they do but obviously sometimes it is in our best interests simply not to see these things.

Respect to the guy for getting his story in the public domain. It is a very moving account and I think I should try to be more tolerant in future. Correction. I WILL be more tolerant in future.

Makes u realise what the police go through sometimes, that's something I couldn't do, will definitely make me think twice at the next road closure I see

That was a link on a school friend's Facebook page. I think PSB has linked to it on Facebook as well.

It's interesting looking around the rest of that site - a voice from the 'bottom of the pile'.

im sure this guy is suffering from the same as a lot of family liaison officers who wind up going long term sick due to stress. i have no doubt that dealing with the event at the time is tough for anyone but they need to learn to detach emotionally. things happen and you cant prevent everything so you have to learn how to deal with it when it happens. death isnt regarding as a pleasant conversation but everyone will have to experience it with someone close and eventually, in person. its a question of how and when, not if! accepting that makes it easier to deal with it
