every galant ive had the clock does not work on. Is there a mod i can do to it?? i heard you can solder a couple wires on it

Yep take the clock apart & re-solder the back of it.

once you have taken the clock out and stripped it down to the circuit board you will have some pins sticking out the bottom, the solder joints for the pins are dry so re solder the joints for the pins.

take it out and do some sort of mod in its space and use a watch to tell the time.

lol not sure about the watch. ill pull it out tomorrow and have a go with the soldering iron

I did this a couple of days ago myself, but i did just solder the 4 solder pins for the power, and that did fix it :)

That's the four! You can often see the hairline crack in the solder joint if you look. I assume the connections are 12v permanent, 12v ignition, 12v lights and ground. Re solder those four and the problem will be cured. The hardest part of the job is getting the clock to lift out of the dash!

Mine popped out really easy. Sit in the car car and rest your hands either side of the clock and push up with your thumbs and it should pop out. Sounds like having a baby dont it.

job done soldered all the connections. and its worked all day so looks good

On a Galant I'd say it's the same issue. On an FTO, I don't know? It sounds like the permanent 12v feed is not permanent for some reason though.
