as title says
its a airbag steering wheel like the legnums
anyone know if it'll fit?
I would say yes but I do not know for definite. Just make sure the battery is disconnected for at least 10 mins before you unplug the old one and connect the new one. :-D

Good advice RED, its a pain in the backside to get the SRS light off...
Don't do what I did and start it without the airbag plugged in eithier :dozey:

there is a little red light in the dashboard that lights up.
I think it usually lights up when you turn the car on. it did in my galant, havnt noticed in my VR4.
The light says SRS
If the computer notices that the airbag has something wrong (being dis-connected is deemed to be bad... ) it lights up the SRS light. This is one light that cant be turned off by disconnecting the battery. once on, you need a scanner to get rid of it.
Getting someone to scan it will probably cost some cash.
Cant get a warrant of fitness with the SRS light on eithier, so you HAVE to get it looked at.
I managed to get mine wiped when my car went in for its service.
Of course the easiest thing is just not to let it light up ;)
wow, thread back from the dead, 6 years old, well done,
yes it does, and theres a guide in the members section on how to do it safely

So does this mean that any aftermarket wheel that fits and Evo 6 will also fit our VR4's ?

Yes Mark, any EVO 6 wheel will be fine.
Quinton, someone recently welded an EVO 7-9 wheel onto the end of our steering column, I don't recall exactly what was done though but it is on here somewhere.
It was Roadrunner that fitted the Evo 7 wheel.
He said it was a lot of work & the guy that fitted it said he would never do another one. Thing you loose AYC as well when you fit it.

Looks like it's possible but some welding is required ... http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?52203-EVO-7-8-9-Steering-Wheel&highlight=steering+wheel

That won't work :p
Part of the wof test is the self test - making sure the light comes on and then goes out

The Evo 6 wheel looks the same but is slightly smaller in diameter.

some fella is telling me i will need a boss for the vr4 for an evo 4 wheel, is this the case. I take it swapping the airbag is included in the "how to"?

I've got an Evo 6 wheel in mine and it simply slots straight in. In fact, it was so easy to fit that I got a little bored and took it off and fitted some buttons to the back to change gear.
You're welcome to buy it off me, if you want - drop me a PM.
