Why do you say T-cut is cr@p? It is very aggressive, so you do need to use it carefully but if you have deep scratches then a fine abrasive liquid might not do enough?

I only say that because I used it on my mr2 that someone keyed and all it seemed to do is make it a clean scratch

Hmmm.... Maybe the scratch was too deep for t-cut too? I am no expert, but I am aware that you can get different grades of abrasive polish, coarse through to fine. The deeper the defect, the coarser abrasive you want to start with, but if the scratch is through the paint then it gets tricky!

G3 paste the yellow packing stuff not black packing

Well on closer inspection it only seems as if it's scratched the lacquer don't think it's gone right through to the colour but looks bad enough

That would be my thinking on anything other than a light scuff too! :D

G3 is great but when used with a buffer/polisher it needs a bit of respect it can cut deep i use a a fine mist of water to aviod thinning the paint to much..

That's what my valeting mate said so I'm gonna let him do it as I'm a bit of a heavy handed ham fisted git, again thanks for the advice chaps, appreciate it

an alternative to g3 is the 3m fast cut plus compound as its less abrasive and is slightly watered down so no need to add water to the paint work.

Use 3M and finish with menzerna, you should easily get menzerna in england.

Again thanks for all the replys and info chaps

Have you thought about using the git who scratched its head??

I most definitely have if I knew who it was but as per usual no-one wants to own up to it, I have my suspicions but can't prove nothing
