Hello.

I was wondering would evo 5/6 center diff fit vr4? Something like this http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdh11b-0

It should. I won't guarantee it, but I'd be suprised if it didn't.

Can highly recommend the Quaife diffs if you find one that fits. :-)

But reading on other evo forums tells me its far more helpful to change the front diff (which is much cheaper and easier anyway) and that the center diff improvement is much less than the front.

Then follow-up question. Is center diff same in both auto and manual box and does anyone have exploded view of autobox?

I believe them to be the same in manual and auto. Again, I can't promise.

yes, an Evo centre diff will fit in a VR-4 gearbox. Probably safest to go for Evo 4-6 though (I see 5 was linked to, so that will be fine).

No point in doing the centre without also doing the front. You will have to be careful with the front as there may be a difference in the front diff housing. (2mm increase in diameter to hold the LSD)

I was always of the oppinion that e4-6 transfer boxes were interchangeable with VR4? In which case then the front diff should work fine.

Cheers,

Ben.

To get away from the less than 100% certainty of the replies, I have a centre diff designed for an Evo 4-6 in my gearbox so it is a confirmed fit.
