I knew something was up when he never called me yesterday to confirm whether he was collecting the car today or wed - I called him today and recieved the pathetic news

he left £100 - isnt much - but its mine now!!
had a few other calls - but told them it was sold - i think they were probably agencies anyways.

its in this fridays autotrader again - but i doubt it will sell - too near to xmas!!!

bugger - i'll just have to get shafted :arse: with the trade in if its not sold by monday PM

the £100 will go towards the VR4

i cant waste any more time / £££ advertising, the garage has been very good to me by keeping the vr4 for me this far (without £££ either - bloody good blokes BTW), they obviously want the deal concluded as soon as and the agreed date was next week, if i havent sold - i trade in.... ho hum

to be honest im starting not to care about selling the v6 - i just want my vr4!!!!

stripped the V6 last week - it looks like its been jacked up 3" when running on the standard springs (slight excageration!! - but not too far off ;) )

got all the bits in the garage waiting for the vR;
Ralliart flaps
K&N panel filter
nokia car kit
snooper
eibachs (well maybe at some point next year!)

only thing left in the v6 is the cd changer - which i'm keeping if it is traded in - the vr has a single cd pioneer system that looks far too complicated for me!!!

Timewasters....

had this e-mail last night enquiring about the car;

"Dear Ritch,
Thanks for the mail, I will like to know your last price with the present condition of the car and will also like to see the pics of the car, I am from west part of africa.
Await your mail,
Regards,
Henry"

now reading between the lines - it should translate -
"Hello i'm a dodgy scammer from africa or somewhere, i have not read your advert that has a picture, and all the details i have just asked for.
Please reply to me and i'll offer you a cheque from my agent in the uk for £20000 and you can send me the difference etc etc etc"

so i replied;

"Dear Henry,

The car is £15,000 (Cash!!!!! - no cheques please)

it is in perfect condition apart from some minor scrapes

regards

Reginald"

and attached the following pics;

"a mate in the trade" says the car is "too expensive"
This sort of thing annoys the hell out of me too. I used to work in the trade (like 30 years ago!) and I don't suppose things have changed much today. Every trader wants to buy a car for next to nothing and sell it above top book to maximise profit, but it does skew your view on what a car is "worth". Fortunately (or unfortunately ;) ), I've left all that behind me and always pay too much for cars now, but at least I don't annoy people by letting them down at the last minute.

Hope you realise your dream, ritch (and maybe realise a good price for your current car too :thumbsup: )

Brian
