Hi all,
Posting this up as I've been trawling the Interwebs for a couple of hours now and can't seem to get a definitive answer, is the H8/539 ECU just a regular 7202 (and reflashable with 7202 ROMS)? I've seen a H8/539 with PCB number JE331B154C and box code MD340289 that's come from a 1998 Tiptronic Autobox Legnum (Pre-facelift).
49661
The numbers across the ECU read as follows:
H8/539
6K1 1
HD64F5398F16
Speaking with Nutter_John on the phone, it seems people have had issues reflashing these ECUS in the past, however I've found numerous pages on the net (this (http://ceddy.us/h8-ecu-wiki/h8-ecus/) wiki, a forum post (http://www.club3g.com/forum/3g-eclipse-gt-gts-specific/108846-looking-circuit-board-photos-2000-v6-mt-ecu.html#post2355909), even this (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?45190-H8-ECU-beta-testers) post on CVR4 kinda implies it too, this russian forum post (http://is.gd/gVlqoM) states this exact chip is reflashable but maybe with physical mods) that state that the H8/539 is simply a 7202 chip (or maybe it's vice versa), and reference the 7202 being reflashed with the H8/539F memory model / kernel.
Anyone able to shed any definitive light on this?
