Was finding and doing this project for 1.5 year already, mostly because it's hard to find the parts I need at my country. Sorry I can't provide the process of the swap project since I was thinking the project would have ended up in failure until 2 month ago it turned out to show a significant process which I decided to keep the project ongoing

Objective :
Installing 6G72TT from Mitsubishi GTO VR4 Facelift and 5-speed Getrag Gearbox from Mitsubishi GTO VR4 Prefacelift into Mitsubishi Galant 8G EA5A along with Full Black Leather Interior from Mitsubishi Galant VR4 and VRM such as MMCS Facelift, 260 km/h Tacho, Doorcards from COTY edition, Black Leather Electric Powered seats, etc to make it looks like stock car from outer appearance

Project Completion :50%

Pictures below, the car is still in mess especially interior part

Nice job !! As Ben said a lot of work there with the Gearbox being the "wrong" side etc./notworthy

Have you got the transmission working OK as well?

for a moment, the transmission is OK (already checked and tested from gear 1-5 and R) along with AWD, but I'll pass AYC and TCL parts

focusing on interior wiring and parts while doing maintenance at engine bay side, will upload more video and photo for it if everything going well

Jep i got the vr2 :) Thanks

It's not as fast as you expect since the engine, awd system and full interior give lot of weight unlike yours

What make me curious is what gearbox you use to match with 6A13TT and how you do it without AWD

With better grip tyres, I bet yours gonna fly from 0-100 km/h under 5 s

MarkSanne

Derry, the 6A13 (n/a) engine's gearbox is a direct fit to the 6A13TT engine, so that's a simple solution. The grip is a problem when you need to get away fast from standstill. My VR2 (stock boost) does 0-100km/h in 6.2 sec, which is not bad at all, but should the full potential of the power be used, then I agree: 5 sec's should be very possible.

That sounds pretty impressive, had known it earlier maybe I should leave mine as FWD rather convert to AWD

Both have their fun aspects! The lack of grip with FWD in 1st & 2nd gear and esp on wet roads is evident and the only things I can think of to get away faster at the strip are: much wider tyres + LSD. That lack of grip is almost non existent with AWD and as long as you put in enough horsepower it can be very fast! And the added bonus with AWD is you can take corners much, much harder, plus when it snows you have heaps of fun with it too :) (although I'm not sure if/how often there's snow in you part of the world).

There's never a snow in here, we only got dry and rainy season :)

I do feel better grip when both launch and taking corner harder compare to before I swap my EA5A however heavier 6G72TT + AWD + all kind of stock interior I added put lot of weight.

Yep, its correct what MarkSanne Says.
It made a big diffrence when i switched tires (from some chinese company to toyo t1r) (from first 3 gears wheelspin, to only the first 2 gears)
Its f****d with fwd, you get a lot of wheelspin wich u dont want. (meanwhile i know how much i need to throttle to barely have wheelspin)
In the summer (dry and hot) its pretty quick, i dont know if i cach the 5seconds, still cant full throttle. I think i timed 5.8 once (note: i have the tweaked ecu) (Didn't had the 3" downpipe, de-cat and lightweights rims when timed) So on a good day i might get it near the 5 seconds.

Atm im thinking of making it 4wd so i can put more power in it. But i need to find a donor vr4 to do that ;) So that will be something for the future ;)

Some people demand a picture of engine bay because previous picture is too small, so I took more picture of bit higher quality, Maybe in near future I gonna use smaller battery and re-placing the wiring again to save some space. I should had have it cleaned before taking pictures though

Man this is a cool project! Kudos for pulling this one hayase. Maybe relocate the battery to the boot? That way you most likely be able to build a a better air intake for the engine. That mushroom filer you have now force the engine to suck hot air inside the bay = power loss.

6G72TT FL has 4-bolt bearing cap while 6G72TT PFL is only 2-bolt, I think the crankshaft on 6G72TT FL also using stronger material
