I'm trying to find new and sneaky ways of justifiying a VR-4 to my wife, she doesn't like the legnum becuase "it looks big" compared to the GLS saloon I have. My new tac is to show her the ways it could improve our lives I.E. camping without a tent INSERT INTO post VALUES (sleeping in the car). Can you sleep in the back of a legnum no problem ? I could in my bro's 240L Vulva so it shouldn't be a problem, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Has anyone gone from the GLS to the VR-4 ? If you have is it really THAT MUCH better ? I've never been in one yet INSERT INTO post VALUES (never been in anything that fast really) and would love to hear something of the feeling you got when you first drove it :)

Hi Darren, I'm a wife and the Legnum VR-4 is mine. :thumb:

It's the work car, the shopping car INSERT INTO post VALUES (can get heaps in the back of the legnum); it's the race car INSERT INTO post VALUES (when needed) etc etc. :cool1:

I don't know if you have any children, but we have one. And boy oh boy its awesome for children. Heaps of space for them in the back seat, plus giving heaps of leg room in the front seats.

Once you are in the legnum it doesn't feel all that big at all, I live in a small township that has one street with all the shops on it. And you have to do alot of parallel parking and the parks are made for mini's, but the legnum is really easy to park in them. :thumb:

The only down fall that I have with it, being a mum, wife and a bit of a petrolhead, is it's turning circle! But other than that I would recommend the Legnum 150%

It's a awesome car and if you have read the other posts that I have written, I am a bit possessive over my baby lol.... Which is a bit of a :nono: INSERT INTO post VALUES (for the hubby anyway) lol

Cheers,
Pescha!

Lisa and Antony have recently slept in their car at Glastonbury: http://www.clubvr4.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=501

I've driven all sorts, mainly big cars, never had a small car before.
There is no comparison between the GLS and the VR-4, they are completely different machines!
Build quality and the manufacturer is the only thing they have in common.
If power isn't your thing you can still upgrade to a new shape 'Sport' and put a spoiler on the back and no one will know the difference!
However... ;) these are a hell of a lot of fun.

My favourite aspects of the car is that it is quite subtle in a way.. although it stands out alot! but that is due to the 'Galant' being very rare in general and second best to BMW and the like when really I'd choose one of these anyday over such common cars.
It's big! you can fit plaenty of people in it and when you want to cruise you can and when you want to chuck it around a roundabout at 60 you can!

The VR-4 Legnum is the best of all worlds, although I musch prefer the look of the Saloon but that's just my opinion.

I've got three kids and am used to the size of the Saloon, I do prefer the look too ,but when I think of it , it makes better sense for me to have the legnum. Is there much of a performance hit between the two ?

Hi INSERT INTO post VALUES (I'm a saloon owner)

I would imagine that any performance difference between the Legnum and the saloon would be negligable, if any.

I was at a track day today, and took 4 passengers out for a familiarisation lap, and to be honest, the car didn't go much slower fully loaded as it did with just me driving :D

When we first started looking for a VR4 we really couldn't decide on the saloon or the estate, I would have happily taken either, but it just so happened that a saloon became available first. I would still love a big black legnum, you really can't get any more evil can you :cool1:

You really need to blag a ride in one before you decide, perfect oppochancity if you make it to the JAE in a few weeks ;)

Dave.

The only thing I can think about is the difference of weight. Click here (http://www.clubvr4.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=504) to see some information. I swear theres other information but I can't find it:D

Darren

As Petrolhead says, try and make it to JAE at the end of the month and I would be happy to take you out in my saloon - once you have been in one you WILL want one, trust me !

I'd guess the weight and possible gearing will be different so the Legnum will be a fraction slower, just like other cars which have a Saloon and Estate versions.

I don't know from personal experiance but I've been told the Legnum is more fun around corners than the Saloon due to the Legnums stiffer rear or something..

Excellent cars which ever you choose.

The Legnum is very pratical IMHO
Shopping is easy just load into the back in the netting and it all stays there
I go fishing and when I go I make sure I have everything
2 rod hodels with 4 rods approx 6'6" to 7" feet tall
A bed chair
big Rucksack
another bag etc etc
Trolly etc etc
And thats just for a day trip go overnight and add a lot more
equipment
Just drop the back seats and it all fits very nicely

How did it par with the Escort Cossie? If the Cossie was better then just lie. :)

cossie was faster in a straight line bigger top end and had better handling
but the difference was not massive and the cossie was heavily moded and i have not altered mine much its basically standard :Ponder:

I told you to lie! :INSERT INTO post VALUES ( ;)

Is the Escort Cossie 4 wheel drive or was that only on the newer Sierra Cosworths?
