how hard is it to swap over?

Took 30 minutes to remove it, taking out an ayc unit will take a bit longer and will be messier with the oil lines and pump to remove too.

Once that is all out it the open diff and axles should fit up in under an hour, you will need to fill with gear oil too.

Not too bad a job.

Could do, another member (Hayden FNFAST VR4) is coming down next weekend (Easter) to pickup the Fujitsubo exhaust system, he may be able to bring the diff and axles up. Do you want to touch base with him about it?

yep ill get in contact with Hayden

very aggressive clutch, and the odd bit of launching,

driving the car less and less each year, but when it driven its usually hard and fast :D

havent pulled this one out yet so havent seen what broke this time,
its just making a hell of racket, and dumped its blood.

drove it home very slowly, luckily wasnt too far from home.

can a str diff handle the abuse of a vr4 driven agressively?

It probably could if he can get an Evo RS (LSD?) unit to bolt in.

yep, its the same as whats in a type-v??? (the non-ayc spec cars)

any idea on kms on this??? overall condition???

just arranging it with Hayden, looks like he can fit it in

Looking at ASA the type v diff's have the same case and carrier but a different crownwheel and pinion for the same ratio, I would guess that the type v items are heat treated differently.

Diff was out a wrecked st-r with just on 100k on it, it looks fine, I was going to fit the rs evo lsd unit to it, but this has sold.

Cheers

just been doing asa research aswell,

the str and 25st does/can use the type v gear set,
it did original have a different part #, but was at some stage updated to the type-gear set.

can you put this on hold for me? will arrange funds/pickup during the week.

Gly i think you just broke the tie between us for 3 diffs broken each. ive smashed 2 ayc and 1 st-r diff. (st-r diff only broke because of my week long rwd adventure) but I think we both treat our cars with a heavy right foot. and the st-r diff with an evo lsd in it hasnt failed me (in 4wd configuration) yet

LOL not sure if its a record to be proud off or not...

how long has the lsd been in yours?

Its a record none the less haha
just under a year I think I much prefer it to AYC. can get it nicely sideways if the occasion calls for it
