I'm having a new windscreen fitted by autoglass.

First of all, they said "we can't get glass for a Legnum".
"How about a Galant" I asked.
"Oh yes, we can get one for that. Is it tinted?"
"At the top, it is", I replied
"Green or Blue? It'll probably be green"

Now, I checked, and given a choice, I'd say it was more blue than green. What colour is yours?

I'm sure the UK spec cars all had clear windscreens and only the Jap versions had the tint.

But in answer, I'd say greeny-blue :p

Had one fitted by Autoglass last year and didn't have a problem with it being a Legnum ,just gave them the chassis number and they contacted Mitsubishi. On the invoice the euro code is 5649AGNGN if that means anything.
This was fitted by Autoglass Birmingham to a facelift Legnum

Had one done 4 years ago by Autoglass, I still have the invoice somewhere, with shipping from Japan, it was £1500!! £60 to me on the excess though.

I think the tint is blue.

not sure what mine actually is, if any, but if i had the choice it'd have to be blue

Cheers, stu. That's really useful. I just rang them and gave them that number, and they'll call back tomorrow. :)

I reckon if mine is technically green and not blue, I still want blue though.....

It's green stripe, and the original VR-4 ones are in stock in Holland (day-to-day delivery) at around £200 mark

Remember if it is a cold spec it has got a heating element under the wipers parked position. No UK supplied cars had that as far as I know. I had one with the heating element fitted aftger an insurance claim - all done through the cars chassis number.

I can confirm it's green as well though you would think it was blue

Ditto. I think all ralliart cars were cold weather spec

Sorry - could have worded that better, no UK market cars had that, or put another way, no cars leaving the factory that were designed/built/made for the UK had that. I think you are right, all the facelift ralliart new car imports were cold spec.

Autoglass called.

The chap was very nice, and said he could get me blue if I wanted, but that he'd have to order it from Mitsi in Japan and that it would take up to 13 weeks.

MOT is in March, so we'll go green.... :)

So was the code any use ?

So was the code any use ?

Not sure, to be honest. They basically said I could have blue if I wanted, as it was an import, but that they had no UK stock and would have to source it from Mitsi in Japan. Given that that was up to 13 weeks and I have an MOT in March, I told them to stick in whatever they had.

That said, I'm looking at the ticket they gave me, and it says 5649AGNGN, which is the code you gave me. I assume that means green then (unless they put the code in that I gave them from you and then used a different part due to availability)
