Got hit buy a suspected drink driver last night by the turn off to Kelson in Lower hutt. She hit me doing about 70km when i was about to stop at the lights. She hit me then tried ramming me off the road. She didnt stop at all and didnt even look as she drove past me. She is currently on the run from the police. She was in an early land rover and had previously over taken me doing 150kph+. Had a witness see it all who tried chasing her but gave up :bigcry: Legnum isnt looking good

Is the damage cosmetic or, more serious?

I'm alright, was just shaken and angry. Was thoroughly checked over by paramedics. Only cosmetic i think

Turns out her car has had no warrant for 4 years and no rego for 3 years. Yea i got her rego when she was taking off and so did the witness who tried chasing her for abit but gave up.

I was so angry and gutted when this happened. Cant imagine how people feel when their cars are actually stolen!

Cops are still looking for the b**ch

Wow that's some serious damage. Pretty gutting!

Unfortunately it looks like there could be further chassis damage under that bumper too :(

I'm sure the cops could pull up her last address and go from there?

low_vr4
10-03-2012, 11:12 PM
Yea thats what i'm worrying about. The cops have traced the car back to an address and have gone to visit the house twice but she isn't there. I actually think they aren't doing anything. I'm freaking out its going to be a write off

Gly
11-03-2012, 05:18 AM
unless you can see rippling in the roof, it just looks mostly cosmetic to me...

your tow bar is straight?? and thats attached to the chassis rails. so there still straight,

new tail gate, and rear bumper, and a cut and weld she'll be right.

im not sure how you'll do excess wise if you cant find the person responsible???

low_vr4
11-03-2012, 05:21 AM
Tow bar is perfectly straight, no rippling in the roof. I'm not sure if the insurance company go after her as well? And the insurance company will only swipe the excess if the woman admits fault. Not sure how that works if i have 2x witnesses.

SEAN-NZ
11-03-2012, 06:24 AM
if its been a police matter aswell, i dont see any reason why she would have to admit fault, if they catch her, shouldnt have to pay excess then, hopefully

wintertidenz
11-03-2012, 07:06 AM
They have to catch her first and make sure she will pay before you don't have to pay your excess.

I had someone reverse into me a few years back, and I had to pay my excess till they coughed up with the cash to pay for the repairs as they weren't insured.

Gly
11-03-2012, 07:19 AM
afaik, until they get a admission of fault (weather they are insured or not),
you will be liable to pay the excess, but your case is a bit different so only way to know for sure is to ask them.

oh man! thats shocking! i hope you're alright man. and insurance sort you out. hopefully they'll catch the b****

Have just sent the forms off to the insurance company. Will have to wait and see. If its a write off i will be devestated. Especially if they dont even find her. The rest of the car is literally scratch and dent free.

Absolute joke, your cops sound about as bad as ours. The law in this country is absolute ****e. You need Spanish police over here, that would shake everybody up big time.

SEAN-NZ
27-03-2012, 08:25 AM
out laws are p**sy as, that shocking, just a warning, should have a huge fine, and loss of license, minimum.

Ryan

She's admitted fault? Surely she should be fined if ANYTHING for "failing to stop short". Obviously way too late for a breath sample etc. Hard luck man but on the positive side, they have found her so now the ball to recovery (be it via recompense or otherwise) can start rolling.

Oggie

but its a hit and run!

shes broken so many laws just doing that.

write a letter to the police commissioner, you need to get this sorted.

lets count shall we?

reckless drivign causing an accident.
hit and run
failign to notify the police of an accident within 24 hours
no reg
no wof

god knows what else.

few grands worth of fines, and atleast a year loss of license sounds about average for that list

Great result in finding her Mike. Obviously going to book her for no wof etc and not stopping, pissed as well? B1tch deserves 6 months!6 months is far too soft. hit and run, failing to stop and assist at scene of accident, dangerous driving, careless use of a motor vehicle. operating a non road worthy and un register vehicle and finally attempted murder! min should be 5yrs.

It's around the site somewhere if you search for it. I suspect that it will be in the Member
s Area though which makes it inaccessible at yours (and my) current membership status.

any news on the crazed driver ?

oh and if they do a victim impact report ( no pun ) say you feared for your life as she pushed your car out the way with her much larger 4wd..

might get her soem jail time.

Send it back and get them to fix it. If they refuse, raise it with insurance. You should get your car back in the same condition as it was before the accident (or better).

I'm pretty sure her court date is coming up. I wrote a victim impact statement, cops said she was having everything repossessed from underneath her when they visited her last. The police knew who she was

she should pay her bill like any responsible person would.. then again responsible people do not ram other cars off the road then bolt for it.
