Took the legnum to our new favourite garage. Failed on headlamp aim and a split rack gaitor, so no biggies.

I told them "it normally struggles with emissions"

"Yeah, they are too high, but as your vehicle isn't in the system, we can't complete the test, so it passes by default"

Definitely like this place :)

I didnt know a car can fail on headlight aim, as i thought headlight adjustment was free on an mot?? When i have had H/L aim to high in the past they adjusted it F.O.C

how did they fail it on split rack boot? As long as there is no play then the joints can be open. Its advisory only

I think they adjusted the headlight for me. I tweaked it myself, but when I went back they only wanted to see the boot. TBH the only two things I fear at MOT time are emissions and rot. Evetything else is easily fixable.

its a matter of where you take the car to get tested. i had my car tested yesterday and it only failed on a broken spring. coilovers or tein springs will soon fix that issue
