Got some mail in the post yesterday from Targa NZ. Informing us that there could be a road closure in June on the 10th. Included was a map of the proposed stage.

Just so happens that we live on a side road, and about 50m up the road from the course. I am thinking that I might get the chair out and go watch.

No point keeping it to myself so am happy if others want to come and watch, we can make a weekend or day out of it. If people want to stay the Saturday, there is plenty of room for parking and tents (paddock has had sheep in it though, so you should bring a ground sheet) if necessary. Fire up the BBQ and away we go :)

As I understand, this could change so will update closer to the time if people are interested.

Road closure is from 12:00 to about 6pm, again this will be updated once confirmation is given.

Had a notice in the local paper that the road will indeed be closed that day :)

If you are coming down (or up), it would pay to arrive sooner rather than later.

what time will the road close then reopen?

Will confirm if I'm working that weekend - but will be keen to come down and make a weekend out of it.

Kenneth - you also keen to do some tuning? :P

Kenneth

Road closure was said to be at 12:30pm. I wouldn't want to run to close to that though.

Um, tuning would be hard without being able to go on the roads :P

I can do logging and third gear runs on the way down if that helps any. I just want a tune that gives me a bit more fuel economy, and removes the cat warmup table.

And yes it is on Sunday.

You can't just "come for a bit" though, the roads are closed because there is a Motorsport Event on :P Roads close at 1200 and reopen at approximately 1730
